Marriage isn't a "fairytale"
Janet Street Porter has warned the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge that marriage won't be a "fairytale," on TheRapidNews.com.
She added that statistically, the average divorced couple do so after only 11 years of marriage; however the Royal couple may have avoided this fate by living together for several years before becoming wed.
Writing for the Daily Mail, the journalist cited these worrying statistics as the reason some Brits found the whole Royal Wedding "unappealing," and said that despite the celebrations and glamour of the wedding, the couple would need to "give and take" in order to make it work in the long run.
Street Porter went on to add: "William and Kate made a public commitment to each other, but, within the Royal Family, the success rate at marriage is in line with the national average - poor, apart from the wonderful example of the Queen and Prince Phillip."
"The government says it wants to bolster marriage by offering free counselling for divorce," she added, something with has been met with mixed responses.
However investing in counselling or life coaching courses might be a good idea for the Duke and Duchess, as it could help them to adapt not only to married life, but to living as a couple in the spotlight.
By understanding how their lives will change, and the techniques they can use to cope with the stress, the couple might enjoyed a longer and more fulfilling marriage. Furthermore, it should help bring them closer together.
The journalist concluded by leaving the couple with one last parting note: "Good luck, William and Kate - you're braver than most of us."
