Dr Crow Swimsaway
Crow Swimsaway PhD, has been active in shamanism since 1982, doing teaching, healing, research and writing. His academic background includes BA and MA in cultural anthropology from the University of Chicago and PhD in social anthropology from the London School of Economics, based on two years of fieldwork among the Atayal people in the mountains of central Taiwan.
Crow came to shamanism following extraordinary personal spiritual experience in the early 1970s. He has had an active healing and teaching practice since the early 80s, working at various venues including universities, teaching centres, festivals, metaphysical bookshops, and private events throughout the eastern US, England and Ireland. With his wife, Bekki Shining Bearheart, he was a major presenter at the 8th conference of the International Society for Shamanistic Research, Budapest, Hungary in 2007.
